Gears of War 2 All Fronts Collection worldwide on July 28 for $19.99/£14.99/€19.99.
by Di3Z3L on May.07, 2009, under Game News, updates and events
Included in the Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection is the Gears of War 2: Dark Corners Game Add-on, which features seven new multiplayer maps and a deleted campaign chapter titled Road to Ruin. In Road to Ruin, Marcus and Dom return to the Locust Hollow in a scene that can be played two ways, guns blazing or in all-new stealth mode. The seven new multiplayer maps in the Gears of War 2: Dark Corners Game Add-on are:
* Sanctuary: Once a peaceful ground for reflection and remembrance, all that remains of the Sanctuary is the chill of death. Feast your eyes on the arsenal of weapons available as you make your way through the tight paths and blind corners of the Locust-damaged temple corridors.
In addition to the new content, the Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection also contains every Gears of War 2 Game Add-on released to date, including the classic Flashback Map Pack, volatile Combustible Map Pack and the winter-themed Snowblind Map Pack. Also included is an introduction to Road to Ruin from Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski, along with a custom Xbox LIVE theme, collectible Gears of War 2 poster and a strategy guide. Containing over 3,600 Microsoft Points worth of content, the Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection is an incredible value at $19.99/£14.99/€19.99.
* War Machine: In the abandoned train station that once served as a hub for travel, players will need to master the Longshot, Mulcher and Boomshot weapons to advance the fight while evading fire from the platforms above.
* Highway: Take the fight deep into the Locust Hollow in the complex passages of this underground highway system brimming with enemy vermin. Stick together, separate the enemy and have an exit strategy ready or it’ll be a one-way trip.
* Way Station: Sitting in limbo between death and “processing” are Locust way stations filled with fallen COG soldiers. Tread lightly and practice patience as it’s better to sacrifice firepower for stealth while navigating this minefield of hidden grenades.
* Nowhere: Set in the middle of what was once a destination for weary desert travellers, the land is now barren and devoid of life. Pick off your enemies with the Longshot sniper rifle and make your way to the stairwell with a well-fortified team during this intense firefight.
Memorial: Set near the Eternal Flame, which pays tribute to the fallen soldiers on the battlefield, a hard-fought battle ensues at the Tomb of Unknowns. Putting their flank formation and evasive skills to the test, players will fight to control the Boomshot.
Allfathers Garden: Honor the sacred grounds of the Coalition founders in this explosive map, where powerful weapons catalyze fast and furious action at this COG landmark.

by Di3Z3L on May.01, 2009, under Game News, updates and events
Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 will feature three multiplayer maps and one new Zombie map, and appear on the Xbox 360.
“Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 underscores Treyarch’s commitment to delivering ongoing support, and new multiplayer and co-op Zombie gameplay experiences for our players,” said Treyarch Studio Head, Mark Lamia. “Our community has been outstanding and has driven support for Map Pack 1, as well as demand for additional downloadable content like Map Pack 2.”
Online, players will compete in “Banzai,” and fight for control of a tall, river bridge, deep within enemy territory; face down foes in a shattered Russian train yard in “Corrosion”; and struggle to control a bombed-out submarine base in the close-quarter map, “Sub Pens.” In “Shi No Numa” (Zombie Swamp), Imperial Zombies rise from misty swamps in an all new co-op experience, with a level that features a mix of traps, flaming Hell Hounds, Perk machines and the deadly, new Wunderwaffe DG-2, as well as 10 new Xbox 360 Achievements that can be earned along the way.
Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 is scheduled for release in June.

Broken Steel DLC makes Fallout 3 endless on May 5
by Di3Z3L on Apr.22, 2009, under Game News, updates and events
So, you’ve taken part in Operation Anchorage and visited The Pitt and you’re still hungry for more Fallout 3 content? Luckily you don’t have too much longer to wait for Broken Steel, the third — and largest — piece of downloadable content for the game, which will be made available on Xbox Live on May 5.
Not only does Broken Steel add a new main quest line which, at four to five hours, is longer than The Pitt, but it also removes a lot of Fallout 3 fans’ major qualms with the game — the ending. Broken Steel takes place after the original ending of the game, allowing you to continue to explore the world after the main quest line is complete. It also increases the level cap from 20 to 30 and introduces some new high-level perks, armor and weapons.
The original Fallout 3 endgame has been changed, so that three companions will no longer refuse to aid you in your final task. The Broken Steel story picks up two weeks later, with you dealing of the consequences of your actions. Don’t worry, completing Broken Steel won’t end the game either. The folks at Bethesda haven’t moved the finishing line — they’ve dismantled it.
Halo Wars ‘Strategic Options’ DLC adds new multiplayer, achievements
by Di3Z3L on Apr.22, 2009, under Game News, updates and events
If your real-time strategy needs have been fulfilled ever since you took care of business in Halo Wars, then know that Microsoft is preparing some DLC for deployment. The DLC pack will be titled “Strategic Options” and will contain 4 new achievements for 100 points and 3 new multiplayer modes.
First up is Keepaway, a CTF variant featuring 3 different flags for capture. Next up is Reinforcement, a mode that provides support in waves, disabling your ability to build armies. Finally, there’s Tug of War, which Microsoft has not divulged any info on, though our own pre-school experience with the gametype causes us to assume it will involve a rope, and take place near the jungle gym. We’re kidding: the winner is decided based on total volume of assets, including units, buildings, and resources.
The new achievements are:
- “One and Done” (30 points): Score the winning point in a game of Keepaway against Legendary A.I.’s
- “Pull Hard, Pull Deep” (20 points): Win and never trail in a Tug of War game
- “Freak on a Streak” (20 points): Gain at least 15 population from a single wave in a Reinforcement game
- “Living Loving Bug” (30 points): Obtain a Scarab during a Reinforcement game
Microsoft has not commented on a price for this DLC, but we’ve put in word to Microsoft for confirmation.
